Our Window Displays

Come by the storefront to check out our seasonally-changing window displays! They’re living exhibits, constantly growing as our neighbors bring us new ideas, photos, and artifacts. They represent the core of what Red Hook Story House is about: community, art, history, and offline storytelling.

Meet Red Hook Story House’s Martina Crivella, the brilliant talent behind our window displays. Martina is a fine arts painter, carpenter, creative designer, and visual display artist. Her work, which includes film production, retail display, restaurant design, and event design, can be seen in venues and residences all over the New York area. Originally from Washington DC, she’s been a proud Red Hooker for over a decade. Martina received a BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, and a Degree in Visual Communications from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Aside from designing Mayden, a DC-based Michelin Star and James Beard Award restaurant, she’s also responsible for building out local staples Hometown BBQ and Red Hook Tavern. She’s built window displays for Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, CA and was the Display Coordinator for Anthropologie. While Martina continues to create, design and build, she recently started working with Modern Rebel and Cheersy, a wedding and event planning company here in NYC. In between her many projects, you may catch her walking around with her adorable new pooch Boots!
